Maccaferri Balkans successfully hosted a highly informative technical seminar this April in Tirana, focused on Reinforced Soil Solutions and Soil Stabilization. The event brought together engineers, designers, contractors, and representatives from public institutions, highlighting Maccaferri’s leadership and ongoing commitment to infrastructure development across the region.

The seminar opened with a welcome speech by Robert Masha, Managing Director of Maccaferri Balkans, who greeted the participants and emphasized the importance of knowledge sharing in advancing regional infrastructure. He was joined by Claudio Ferracuti, Europe Business Unit Director, who shared Maccaferri’s strategic vision for sustainable and resilient construction solutions across Europe. Elvis Loli, Technical Commercial Manager, also addressed the audience, setting the tone for a technically rich and engaging seminar.

The first technical session was led by Marco Vicari, who presented in detail on Reinforced Soil Solutions. His session covered a wide range of Maccaferri systems including Terramesh®, Green Terramesh®, Terramesh® Mineral, and the family of reinforcement products such as Paralink®, Paragrid®, and Paradrain®, all designed for retaining structures, embankment stability, and complex geotechnical conditions.

The second session was presented by Giuglia Lugli, who focused on Geosynthetics and Soil Stabilization. She highlighted the benefits and applications of geogrids and geotextiles in improving soft soils, reinforcing embankments, and enhancing long-term performance of infrastructure works.

The seminar was met with strong interest and active participation, with attendees engaging in technical discussions and exploring future collaboration opportunities.
