A section of Petronas gas pipeline in Negeri Sembilan was recently exposed due to severe riverbank erosion caused by natural water flow, raising safety and environmental concerns. In response, a sustainable riverbank protection solution was implemented to safeguard the pipeline and restore ecological balance.

The project features the use of double twisted Galfan Polimac Gabions and Reno Mattress Plus, filled with natural stones. These permeable structures support aquatic habitats, promote vegetation growth, and preserve natural water flow—contributing to the long-term health of the river ecosystem.

Advanced design tools such as Macstars W4.0 and the web-based MacRa were used to ensure stability and efficiency in the gabion and mattress designs, demonstrating a blend of innovation and environmental responsibility.
