Strengthening Naypyidaw’s Roads to Meet Growing Traffic Demands
Advanced asphalt reinforcement enhances durability and efficiency, addressing the challenges of increased traffic on Naypyidaw’s critical road network.
NAYPYIDAW, MYANMAR
The growing traffic volumes in Naypyidaw, especially from heavy commercial and transport vehicles, have significantly strained the city’s road infrastructure. Visual inspections revealed moderate to severe pavement distress, making resurfacing an urgent requirement to ensure safe and efficient traffic flow.
To address these challenges, Maccaferri proposed the installation of MacGrid ARVG 5 in severely cracked areas. This advanced asphalt reinforcement solution is a planar structure made of glass fiber strands arranged in a polymer-coated grid with pressure-sensitive adhesive. Its bitumen-compatible coating ensures strong adhesion, preventing reflective cracking and enhancing road durability.
This innovative rehabilitation approach not only addresses current road issues but also strengthens the road’s resilience, ensuring long-term serviceability for increased traffic demands.
